Dr. Diaz is a board certified general adult psychiatrist who specializes in treating patients with mental health conditions. He graduated from medical school in Memphis and then completed a four year residency training program in psychiatry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Diaz then completed a one year fellowship training program in addiction psychiatry at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He has provided psychiatric care to patients at medical facilities, inpatient psychiatric units, intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient clinics. Dr. Diaz provides evidence based treatment for substance use disorders, including Suboxone. In addition to medication management, he has experience with various psychotherapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, supportive psychotherapy, group therapy, and motivational interviewing. Dr. Diaz is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, and the Tennessee Medical Association.
